I guess everyone has a book that they refer to as their ‘eureka’ book; the one book that gave them a new look at the way things should be done, a new awakening.

I can remember exactly where I was when I first listened to this book. I say listened, as I very rarely get the opportunity to pick up a book and flip pages. So instead I have a monthly membership with Audible and once a month I download a new audio book. The E Myth was also the first book I listened to through Audible.

‘So what’s it about?’ I hear you cry. ‘Get on with it and let us know why we should give up valuable time.’

It’s quite simple really, I think that all students who show any signs of an entrepreneurial spirit at school and college should be given this book to read and study.

It’s the one book that explains what the entrepreneurial spirit is all about and how some people are entrepreneurial whilst others, who may think they have entrepreneurial spirit, may only be suffering from an entrepreneurial seizure.

It explains the difference between Technicians and Operational Management in a precise and understandable way that gives you absolute clarity in where you are going, and how to get there.

The book demonstrates the steps to take to ensure that you build your business correctly, making sure that you get the fundamentals right and build from the bottom up.

It describes the importance of building the franchise prototype model from day one and building the business structure correctly. It explores the challenges that you will face as you grow your business and how to ensure that you don’t fall foul of simple mistakes.

The book is written in a relaxed, story based style, following the course of one entrepreneur as they try to develop their business from infancy through growth and beyond.

It’s one of my top 10 all-time favourite business books, and one that, each time I read it, I find something new to relate to.

I give it a 10/10!!
