Building A Business From Scratch – Part 12

Setting Up A Company In this chapter we’ll be discussing the basic principles required for setting up a company in preparation to start trading. If you’ve been working hard in the run up to this point and implemented what you’ve learned from this book so far. . .  Congratulations, you’ll be set up to have a successful business. When the doors open for business you may be starting from a back bedroom of your home or opening the doors on a new shop or factory. Whatever your start is, it’s the first goal of your long-term vision. I want you to remember how you feel when it happens. Because when times get tough, and they will, remember how it felt the day you started, and this will help keep you focused and motivated. I have a fear. A fear that my competition is working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so if I’m not working hard, then the competition is gaining an advantage. This is what motivates me to keep pushing, work hard and set an example to my employees. One of my role models Dwayne Johnson AKA the Rock puts this well by saying: Always be the hardest worker in the room. Unfortunately, you may lose friends and possibly even family who could be holding you back or suppressing your energy and ideas. Sounds like a hard decision to make doesn’t...

Marketing has become much easier than in the past. A lot of marketing campaigns can be automated once initially set up. Yes, this will cost money and time. But don’t look at it as a cost, more of an investment. There are 2 types of online marketing: – Interruption marketing and attraction marketing. Interruption for example is a Facebook ad targeted to you while you are browsing the newsfeeds. Whilst attraction marketing for example is Google pay per click where the customer is actively looking to buy/research your product or service. If you’re not marketing your business, then you’re...

Systems. The engine to any successful business. Every business needs good reliable, sustainable systems for themselves and employees to work to. Having systems in place will help your business run smoothly and efficiently, bringing control to your business, which in turn will lead to better profitability. Sounds good doesn’t it. Often when systems are mentioned to start-up businesses, you see fear come over their faces. Like a lot of things in life, some people over think and over complicate things they have never experienced before. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a business. A successful business...
